2025–2026 SEASON POLICIES

 

***PLEASE READ CAREFULLY — IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE DANCE SEASON***

 

-- Studio A Dance Center Policy Agreement --

The policies of Studio A Dance Center (SADC) are designed to promote a productive, organized, and efficient dance environment. By following these guidelines, families help create the best experience possible for all dancers.

 

-- Calendar --

The 2025–2026 season begins Monday, August 11, 2025, and runs through Thursday, June 4, 2026. Weekly classes continue until our Spring Recital, tentatively scheduled for June 5–6, 2026.

 

SADC will follow the MSD of Steuben County’s calendar and observe the following breaks:

 

* Labor Day: September 1

* Fall Break: October 13–17

* Thanksgiving Break: November 26–28

* Winter Break: December 22–January 5

* Spring Break: March 30–April 3

* Memorial Day: May 25

 

-- Cancelled Classes --

SADC does not automatically close when schools close. Parents will be notified by 3:00 PM if classes are canceled due to weather or other unforeseen events. Notifications will be sent via email, text, and posted on Facebook and Instagram.

 

Make-up classes may be offered but are not guaranteed.

 

-- Dance Class Attire --

Dancers must wear appropriate attire based on class dress codes (found in class descriptions at registration). Hair must be pulled back in a ponytail or bun. No jewelry (except stud earrings) or street clothes (jeans, dress-up outfits, etc.).

-- Drop-Off, Pick-Up & Waiting Area --

Dancers remain in the waiting area until called in by their teacher. Parents may wait or return at the end of class. For safety, children must be picked up inside the studio. No child should walk in the parking lot unsupervised.

 

Young children must be supervised in the waiting area. No running, yelling, or outdoor games (e.g., tag, hide-and-seek) indoors. You may use observation windows, but please do not disturb classes. Be respectful to all dancers, families, and staff.

 

-- Bathroom Policy --

Dancers should use the restroom before class. Teachers cannot assist students in the bathroom. If your child may need assistance, please stay in the waiting area during class.

 

-- Attendance & Participation --

Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential. Notify the studio of any absences or tardiness. Participation and following teacher directions are expected. If your child is sick or showing symptoms, please **do not** attend class.

 

-- Registration --

Registration requires a $15/student fee (max $30/family) and first month’s tuition. Students are placed by age and ability. Contact Miss Julie for placement questions.

 

Waitlists will be created for full classes. Students are added in the order received. Alternative class options may be offered.

 

Classes with fewer than 3 students by September 22 may be canceled. Enrolled students will be moved to other suitable classes.

 

-- Monthly Tuition --

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. A $10 late fee applies after the 7th. Auto-pay processes on the 27th of the preceding month (e.g., October tuition will be processed on September 27). Tuition must be paid in full to participate in recital.

 

Tuition is not based on attendance. No prorations or refunds for absences, vacations, holidays, weather closures, etc.

 

Tuition Rates:

 

* 30-minute class: $45/month

* 45-minute class: $52/month

* 1-hour class: $60/month

* 90-minute class: $76/month

 

Multi-Class Discounts (calculated by student):

 

* 2 classes: 5% off total tuition

* 3-4 classes: 10% off

* 5+ classes: 15% off

 

-- Costume Fee --

Costume fee is $85/class, due by November 1. This includes one costume and one pair of tights. A $20 late fee applies after November 1. Auto-pay accounts will be charged automatically.

 

* Dancers are measured in class during September.

* Recommended sizes are given by October 1.

* Parents must confirm or select costume sizes by November 1.

* Size exchanges cost $25 and must be paid within one week.

 

Costumes and tights are distributed January–April, depending on delivery. Parents must provide required shoes for recital.

 

Required Footwear by Class:

 

* Ballet: pink ballet shoes

* Tap: tan (girls) or black (boys) tap shoes

* Jazz: tan (girls) or black (boys) jazz shoes

* Lyrical: canvas half-soles

* Hip Hop: white tennis shoes

* Acro: barefoot

Pointe: properly fitted pointe shoes

 

-- Holiday Show and Spring Recital --

Studio A is planning to have its first Holiday Show this year. Details will be shared as soon as possible. 

 

Our Holiday Show is schedule for Friday, December 19 at 6:30pm at the T. Furth Center. Rehearsals will take place during the week prior to the performance.

 

Our Spring Recital is tentatively scheduled for June 5–6, 2026. This includes a dress rehearsal and performances. Recital Packets with details will be distributed before Spring Break.

 

**Accounts must be paid in full for recital participation.**

 

-- Payment Options --

Payments accepted via cash, check, debit/credit card. Drop off at studio or mail to:

Credit/debit payments available online through the DSP Parent Portal or in person. Auto-pay can be enabled via the parent portal.

 

Processing Fees:

 

* Credit Card: 3.05% + $0.30/transaction

* ACH (bank transfer): 1% + $0.20/transaction

* Returned (NSF) payments: $25 fee

 

-- Photo/Video Waiver --

SADC may use photos/videos of students for promotional purposes. To opt out, update your preferences in the Parent Portal under "Waivers."

 

-- Agreements --

I acknowledge that dance involves risk of injury, including but not limited to injury to muscles, joints, ligaments, bones, and the spine. I understand the importance of my child following teacher instructions and agree to release Studio A Dance Center LLC and its staff from any liability associated with participation.

 

I give Studio A permission to use photographs and videos of my child(ren) for promotional use unless I opt out in the Parent Portal. Uses include websites, social media, flyers, and news articles.

 

By signing this agreement, I confirm that I:

 

* Understand and accept all Studio A Dance Center policies.

* Agree to all tuition, costume, and late fee terms.

* Understand and accept all photo/video and liability waivers.
